Proffitt Named Manager of Dedicated Division of VHI Transport Back
Chester, VA – September 11, 2006 - - Melissa Proffitt has been named Manager of the Dedicated Division of VHI Transport, Inc. in Chester, VA. Announcement was made by President David (Bruce) Gee. VHI is a full service third party transportation service provider. Their Dedicated Division works with shippers to provide carriers, consistent, high volume lanes, that are run frequently.
“Having the same drivers on the run means that the preferences and priorities of the customer are better understood and addressed,” explained Proffitt. “For carriers, dedicated runs mean better infill for schedules. It’s a win/win situation.”
Proffitt came to VHI with 15 years experience with a third party distribution center. Her division is one of eight special service divisions within VHI, a firm which has grown and prospered in the transportation industry for some thirty years. VHI recently moved to Chester from their long-time Richmond location.
