Plan of Salvation

According to Isaiah 59:2, our sin (or the following of our plans and agendas as opposed to God's) has separated us from our relationship with God. The following scriptures give an outline of the problem and solution:

Romans 3:23 - All have sinned.
Romans 6:23 - Eternal life is a free gift of God.
Romans 5:8 - Because of love, Jesus paid the death penalty for our sins.
Romans 10:9-10 - Confess Jesus as Lord of your life and believe God raised Him from the dead.
Romans 10:13 - Ask God to save you and He will.

To place your faith in Jesus Christ and receive His gift of eternal life you must:

Recognize that God created you for a love relationship with Him. He wants you to love Him with all your being.
Recognize you are a sinner and you can't save yourself.
Believe that Jesus paid a death penalty for your sin by His death on the cross and rose from the dead in victory over death.
Confess (agree with God about) your sins, that they seperate you from Him and that you hate them as He does.
Repent of your sins (turn from sin to God).
Ask Jesus to save you by His grace (undeserved favor).
Turn over the rule in your life to Jesus. Let Him be your Lord.

Spiritual Growth

Now that you have trusted Christ as your Lord and Savior, your life of faith in Him has began. Your life of faith will enable you to trust God increasingly with every detail of your life. The following tips are Bible based principles for growing in Christ:

G - Go to God daily in prayer (John 15:7)

R - Read God's word daily (John 15:7; Acts 17:11)

O - Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21)

W - Witness for Christ by your life and words
    (Matthew 4:19, John 15:8)

T - Trust God for every detail of your life (Pr. 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:7)

H - Holy Spirit - Allow the Holy Spirit to control and
    empower your daily life and witness (Gal. 5:16,17;
    Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18).

One last thing, fellowship in a good church. God's word instructs us to not forsake "the assembling of ourselves together" (Hebrews 10:25) that we may encourage one another on to love and good deeds. If you do not belong to a church, do not wait to be invited. Take the initiative; call the pastor of a nearby church where Christ is honored and His word preached.
