OPERATIONS, VHI TRANSPORT

John Smith
of
Manakin Sabot, VA has been named Director of Operations for VHI Transport, a
full service transportation provider for shippers of freight.
Announcement was made by Bruce Gee, president of the firm.
For ten years,
Smith served as Director of Logistics for Meadwestvaco, a major manufacturer of
paper, packaging, and specialty chemicals with annual sales of $7.5 billion.
In this role,
he negotiated and worked with motor, rail and ocean carriers.
With a Masters of Business Administration from
Monmouth
College
in New Jersey,
John is licensed to practice before the Interstate Commerce Commission.
He is a Commissioner on the
Port
of Richmond,
a Fellow on the Virginia Rail Policy Institute and Past President of the Pulp
and Paper Transportation League.
Bennett Continues
as Assistant Director
Mike Bennett,
promoted to Assistant Director of Operations earlier this year, will continue
with responsibility for the Logistics, Flatbed and Refrigerated Divisions.
Bennett has more than 20 years experience in transportation and has been with
VHI Transport for the last four years.
