New Corporate Offices for VHI Transport   Back

Chester, VA – June 22, 2006 - VHI Transport, Inc. has moved its freight logistics operation to new headquarters. The large, newly renovated facility at 4525 Lee Street in Chester, VA, is just a few miles from the Richmond location occupied by the firm for more than 25 years.

“The new corporate headquarters gives us more than twice the space of the old location,” stated Connie Whitley, long time Sales & Marketing Director for the firm.

VHI, formerly Virginia Hiway, Inc., has grown substantially in recent years and now has divisions for virtually every type of freight transport, domestic and international.

The Van and Flatbed Divisions handle all type of freight to destinations anywhere in North America. The Dedicated Carrier Division arranges consistent lanes of service for distributors and manufacturers who deliver to the same areas daily or weekly.

The Container Division provides drayage for imports and exports at America’s seaports. The firm also has divisions for refrigerated freight, liquid bulk and air expedited freight. Additional services include transloading, short truck service and warehousing.

VHI is a debt-free company with an A-1 credit rating, according to Whitley. She attributes its current popularity among shippers to its diversity – the ability to provide so many different modes of transport, its reputation for integrity and quick pay and the high level of customer service it has provided consistently for nearly three decades.

Chairman of the Board of VHI Transport is David E. Gee, who recently completed two terms as Chairman of the Board of the Transportation Intermediaries Association, the country’s largest trade organization for brokerages and contract logistics firms. He was also owner of WXGI Radio, which was recently sold to the owner of the Washington Redskins.
